In Portuguese we say “Não há duas sem três” (Roughly translated as “There’s no two without three”). We can now use this saying to refer to our partner towns, as we are just adding our third partnership to the list!
Our list of Remote Work Ready Towns does not stop growing and we can now add one more in the north of Portugal. São João da Pesqueira is located in the “heart of Douro” and is the oldest recognised municipality in the whole country, created in 1055. How cool is that?
If you like wine, you will not want to miss São João da Pesqueira. Did you know that the municipality of Pesqueira is the largest producer of Port wine in Portugal? There’s more than 75 wineries (“quintas”) located in the area, producing this and other types of wine. Luckily, you will have time to visit and taste the wine of every single one of them!
Beautiful landscapes and hikes in nature will also be part of your daily life as soon as you move to the town. Just before Spring arrives, almond trees will brighten up your days with their beautiful blossom. The “Almond blossom trail” will take you to the best spots to enjoy this wonderful natural spectacle. You can learn more about it here.
Unfortunately for most of us (😁), moving to the countryside is not just about leisure, and we still need to focus on our jobs. If that’s the case with you, we’ve got it covered too. By moving with Rural Move, you have access to a co-working space in Pesqueira, which is free for the first 12 months.
São João da Pesqueira is waiting for you, and we are here to help with your move! Contact us today: https://ruralmove.org/sao-joao-da-pesqueira/
P.S. – If you reached the end of the article and realised you still struggle with pronouncing the “ã” in the name of this town, you are not alone! Get in touch to know how we can help you improve your Portuguese skills.
